My third book was made in collaboration with a singer-songwriter, my husband. I made an animation and Joon made a song for this story, and then published a picture book with the lyrics. It is about the relationship among family members. Of course, it is based on our family, my husband and I and our two daughters. As time goes by, my husband and I have been thinking about what parents are and how we can love each other forever. The answer we found so far is that we need to accept the fact that we are all existing differently. That would be the starting point to love each other.

So, I described “the family” as trip mates sharing a wonderful journey. All members of the family are dancing from the beginning to the end of the animation. They dance together, but all members of the family have their own unique dance. They look like they are going to travel together, but it can be seen that they go their own way eventually. Thus, the period while they are together looks more precious and special. I hope this artwork gives a message to help people, who have anxiety when thinking of their family like me, feel relieved. I believe that love towards family begins with a light heart. I hope my daughters will have this idea and live their lives independently.

Like this story, in fact, my family is on an adventure. We came to New Zealand, where we had no friends and family. We are exploring this new place with such interesting things and sharing our hearts with lovely neighbors. We know that not only are we are together now but also we all will find our own ways. This is the reason why this moment is shining.
